5 PM | The Librarians

When books are pulled off the shelves, stories aren’t the only thing to go with them. The Librarians puts a spotlight on the ever-growing tsunami of book bans that are washing over the nation. Though librarians often go unnoticed, they are extremely passionate, taking on the risk of losing their careers just to protect marginalized voices in schools and libraries.

This documentary follows librarians as they navigate how to uphold these voices while facing political pressure and censorship. Their fight is not only about books, but also about who can be seen and heard. The Librarians is a brilliantly created and insightful account of how the fight over books has turned into a front in the culture wars.

An incredibly constructed documentary that lights you on fire with its call to action.

Of course aliens like queer people more than they like conservatives.
