MEET THE TEAM

Picture This: Group photo of Student Programmers taken by Sam during San Francisco Pride.

The 2023 Q-Fest cohort consists of students who share a range of ideas, interests, and talents. With a collective passion for queer advocacy, this year’s cohort aims to create a queer film festival that connects our campus community (and the Chippewa Valley) through queer lives and experiences.

  • Josh Holness (they/he)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: Me, my dirty chucks, and a Pride Flag posing for a picture right before I burned a $50 hole in my wallet.

  • Erin McMicheal (she/they)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: This picture was taken at the Family Pride Block Party. Last year, Erin got a picture with the Castro Unicorn, however, this year the unicorn wasn’t as photogenic (checkout the gallery).

  • Emily Luebke (she/they)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: This is Emily sitting in front of the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge while covering up a carpet bruise after tripping in the Castro Theatre just days earlier.

  • Miles Perreault (they/he)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: Miles stands in the Japanese Tea Gardens, smiling at the camera while his new friends take the picture.

  • Jacksen Wolff (he/him)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: I bankrupted myself by buying some overpriced earrings approximately 15 minutes after this was taken.

  • Maggie Armstrong (they/she)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: Our lovely student services coordinator Sam took this photo of me capturing my festive makeup shortly after arriving at the Trans march!

  • Brett Farmer (he/him)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: One of the best features of San Francisco is the ease and beauty to explore. One of our group’s favorite spots was here in the Japanese Tea Garden, where I—with a coffee in hand (always)—admire the beauty of the park, laughing at the ever-funny Quinn Lester behind the camera telling me how to smile and pose.

  • Scout McKnight (he/him)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: This is Scout standing on the front steps of the condo the cohort stays in in San Francisco, showing off in his new and strange sunglasses.

  • Quinn Lester (she/her)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: Brett and I spent our last few hours in San Francisco taking public transportation to the golden gate bridge. We loved navigating the train schedule just as much as we enjoyed the views of the bridge.

  • Maggie Minnick (she/they)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: It’s the last day we spent in San Francisco. I’m tired and carrying a new tarot deck, a gift bag, and three cookies. Hot Cookie is one of my favoritest little shops in the whole world, and I really wanted a picture with their pride sign. Pictured to my right is Josh with their 3rd water bottle of the trip.

  • Primrose Walker (they/them)

    Student Programmer

Picture This: Sam took this picture of me at San Francisco Pride! When we got to Pride, the first thing everyone did was take pictures in front of these trees. The ribbon was a gift from Chris and Kallie, they gave us a bunch of Pride stuff before we left the condo.

  • Sam Glaab-Lanigan (she/her) (Gluten-Free)

Student Services Coordinator, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center

Picture This: Sam is standing on the sidewalk in front of the Castro Theater where she watched so many amazing films! To her right is Hot cookie where she did not eat anything, but it did smell delicious every time she walked by the shop!

  • Kallie Friede (she/her)

Director, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center

Picture This: San Francisco is filled with iconic sight seeing, and The Palace of Fine Arts is definitely one of those places. This photo was taken by a very kind stranger with a very cute dog whilst exploring the architecture down in the Marina District!

  • Christopher Jorgenson (he/him)

Executive Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Leadership

Picture This: San Francisco is a visually stunning city, and everything is a canvas. Ephemeral street art can be found on all things, seldom staying put for long. These bears popped up on a bus stop in the Castro district.
