Godwin Agbara
Meet Godwin! Godwin is a third-year English, Critical Studies major and Journalism minor at the university. In his time at the university, he’s immersed himself into the campus and the city of Eau Claire. His passion for activism for black and brown students as well as other marginalized communities has only grown in his time on campus. During his time on campus, Godwin has been heavily involved with Multicultural Student Services, serving as president of the Black Student Union the last 2 years. He is also an active staff writer for the school’s newspaper “The Spectator.”
When he’s not on campus, you have a high chance of finding him just by looking around the city. You can find him working at various spots in Eau Claire, including the Pablo Center and Eau Claire Vintage. His passion for fashion is never unnoticed. You can also see Godwin in the music scene, as he has been writing, producing, and performing for years, starting his band “The Doghouse” here in Eau Claire (voted 3rd in the “Best New Artist/Band” in the Chippewa Valley by Volume One.) He also makes music on his own under the name “Yomchi” and is active in the university theater community, performing in multiple shows at UWEC.
This will be his first time participating in Q-Fest, and he is very excited to learn and grow in the community.
