Meet Emma! Emma is currently a fourth-year social work major with certificates in child welfare and equity, diversity, & inclusion who is extremely excited to be joining the Q-Fest cohort for the first time. During Emma’s time at UW-Eau Claire, she has taken up any opportunity thrown her way whether it be running for student senate, participating in and coordinating the Civil Rights Pilgrimage, or becoming a director of the Equity in Student Matters Commission—she truly loves to do it all. Advocacy takes up a huge space in Emma’s life and she can’t wait to expand and focus on queer communities during her participation in Q-Fest.

When Emma isn’t busy with academics and extracurriculars, she enjoys listening to good music (Beyoncé), watching some good TV (RuPaul’s Drag Race), and surrounding herself with the most amazing friends she could’ve ever asked for! Through the opportunity provided by the GSRC and the Q-Fest program, Emma hopes to give back to the queer community that has supported her unconditionally!

Picture This: Emma had just finished meeting the executive director of Frameline, Allegra Madsen. Emma has a huge girl crush on her, so naturally she had to show off and pose in front of the Frameline backdrop.
