Inspired heavily from other comedic and off-beat animations, such as Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Scott Pilgrim, the sci-fi comedy musical Lesbian Space Princess shines its focus on the introverted and socially anxious Saira (voiced by The Pitt’s Shabana Azeez)- the next in line to inherit the throne to Clitopolis. However, she is unable to summon her Royal Labrys, keeping her from being allowed to officially inherit the throne.
When her ex, Kiki, gets kidnapped by the Straight White Maliens, Saira is forced to break out of her shell and figure out not just a way to summon her Labrys, but completely leave her comfort zone (and Gay Space). From problematic spaceships (Richard Roxburgh) to weapon crazed queens (Kween Kong), Saira must overcome her self-doubt and anxiety to get to and save Kiki—which the Labrys would probably help with. At least a little.
