1 PM | Shorts Package: You Better Werk!

The Callers (20 mins): 24-hour helplines for LGBTQ+ individuals exist almost everywhere; The Callers showcases stories from the people in London on the other side of the phone who answer the calls. Whether it’s a call from someone with an exciting milestone or a call from someone at their lowest, these individuals accept them all with open and loving arms.

One Night At Babes (29 mins): In rural Vermont, a small-town bar, BABES, owned by two queer trans men is full of love, laughter, and fun, but also some downsides of being a conservative area. See how the town supports and shows love towards these two bar owners, and the community that they build!

Seat 31: Zooey Zephyr (14 mins): Trans woman Zooey Zephyr was removed from the Montana House of Representatives for speaking against a bill banning trans health care. She then makes a nearby bench her “office” also known as, seat 31. See how Zephyr inspires others and braces against transphobia.

There Are Things To Do (18 mins): Documentary on life long activist Urvashi Vaid who was an immigrant, lesbian, and woman of color who helped shape the modern day queer rights movement. The film goes through her time of activism, her accomplishments, and stories from her life partner Kate Clinton.

Advocacy is so important, but it can be difficult sometimes. If you need a little spark of inspiration, I’d absolutely recommend this shorts package.
