National Anthem follows Dylan, a 21-year-old working odd jobs to make ends meet for his
single mother and brother, as he begins his journey of self-discovery. His newest job lands
him at a local country ranch. There, he meets and joins a group of queer rodeo performers.
Along with finding himself amongst this new group of queer friends, he learns more about
his queer identity and the friends around him that help his discover it. The film shows a
queer version of the American dream and the importance of chosen family.
